June 30: León – Astorga
Fastest girl on the track, Victoria from Budapest. She is just amazing, blisters allover, drinks like a man and caught me up two times. She always forgets my name, so she lovely calls me ironman. But today was too strong, things are getting tougher, left her at km 38, won’t see her again.
When I checked into the albergue in Astorga the young receptionist looked for the stamps in my pilgrim pass and than said; where do you come from? Germany? Loco! (Crazy).
Its amazing, the longer the walk takes the more you are deteriorating mentally but at the same time physically getting stronger and stronger. Since León my RHR stayed constantly below 60.
